History

Prezilimpia was first organized in 2018 with the purpose of developing the presentation skills of students studying in the field of economy and business and comparing the knowledge of students from different institutions. In the framework of the Hungarian and English language talent show students compete with classic presentations and they have the opportunity to participate in a presentation-karaoke, in which they have to improvise about an unknown slideshow and talk about it smartly and fluently.

The aim of the competition is to develop talented young speakers to become real professionals. Therefore, a panel of experienced judges gives feedback to participants at the end of their presentations both at the regional and at the national round, while a Toastmaster mentor helps the best ones to prepare for the national final.

Testimonials

The reason why I participated in this competition is to challenge myself and improve my ability to speak in front of the audience. Prezilimpia taught me how to be confident while presenting a presentation in front of many people. I am interested in public speaking because I consider it as one of most important skills everyone wishes to have, especially for business people.
(Jamil, SZTE)

Do something you are afraid of! I had been telling myself this, when I applied for the competition. I wanted to improve and the best method for this is to step out of the shadows. I stepped out on the podium and I do not regret any minute of it. The competition and the preparation beforehand helped me to stand confidently in front of a crowd and to be able to defend my views even though other people do not agree with me. I got to love the word of free speech and presentations, and I managed to use the knowledge that I acquired during Prezilimpia on other competitions as well.
(Ádám, BME)

I can honestly say that it was the best competition I had ever participated in and I received the 3rd place in the final national round that has been an exceptional honor for me. Besides the prize, I got a lot of experience and also made new connections.
If you would like to learn new things and finally stand in front of 10, 100 or even 1000 people in a confident way, do not hesitate to apply, because you’ll get these from Prezilimpia!
(Nikolett, ME)

The prospects of presentations always made me excited and the opportunity to present in front of Mr.Prezi himself made it even better. I’ve always felt towards making this world more sustainable and development in transportation is something that I could talk about any time and any day. So when the thoughts of this competition were combined with last year’s topic, I knew I simply had to do my best! I hope I can be part of this competition again and I’m super hyped up to see what this year brings for me!
(Ashish, PTE)

With the digitalization and the transformation of media, it is becoming increasingly important to make ourselves seen and take part in competitions to challenge ourselves. It is not enough to hide ourselves behind our social media posts and videos, but we should be able to present ourselves in real life too. These are the main reasons why I think it is worth to learn how to create a charismatic, authentic and well-built presentation. During Prezilimpia, the environment was pleasant and welcoming, despite the fact that it was a high-quality competition with exceptional standards. I can encourage everybody to try it!
Good luck to this year’s competitors!
